Broadband Planning Group (BPG), a Colorado LLC, was founded by Tobey Johnson to address the serious need for expertise, to properly plan for, finance, implement, and operate broadband infrastructure. After 15+ years of experience deploying advanced networks worldwide, Tobey formed BPG with a simple goal of creating and providing an array of customized planning services, covering both wired and wireless initiatives. These are delivered through a series of professional services that walk the client through the various and often complex steps in broadband business planning. BPG utilizes its many years of first-hand experience in both telecommunications and broadband services sectors, including an impressive network of external specialists that can be engaged for specific client deliverables.

PresidentTobey has led many broadband planning efforts to various regional and community broadband initiatives. The range of professional services that Tobey has been responsible for include needs assessment, feasibility studies, financial modelling, infrastructure design, business incorporation, public/private partnerships, implementation planning, and seeking sources of capital. Additionally, Tobey’s telecom experience includes developing converged voice, video, and data networks throughout the United States, Canada, and Western Europe. Tobey also has a strong economic background, having worked in the capital markets at Merrill Lynch.
